This doll isn’t echt Monster High. She’s a Chinese copy of the incredibly rare Webarella doll, and more or less obsolete now because MH did another spider doll, Wydowna. I picked this one up secondhand. She’s a good copy, though her hair is poor quality, her hip-joints loose and the plastic of her body and legs feels very brittle. Her arms are wonderfully mobile, though, so I took her outside for a photo session, telling myself the whole time: I must take care not to let her fall, she would smash to pieces. Just as I was going to take her indoors, inevitably, disaster struck; she slipped from the saddle stand and plummeted five feet to land on solid marble with a sickening CRACK! When I picked her up, her lower leg and outer thigh had gone. I salvaged the bits, thinking I could maybe glue her together. But all I had to do was put the lower leg in position and the outer thigh just clicked back on again. Good as new, not even a chip or crack to show for her misadventure.

Chinese-made fake Webarella may be hooky as all hell, but she’s a tough cookie. Somebody did a good job on her.
